Juan F. Moctezuma II's first film. While a projectionist at Cine Opera in Mexico City. He stole pieces from films that came through the theater and then cut them with bits of footage of his own to make this film. The short won him the award and led to his first studio film.

"Tiempo de morir (1959)" follows Dr. Augustin (played by Moctezuma himself) as he uses his time machine to travel back in time over and over again in an attempt to save his love, Saurina (Lisa), from the evil Don Juan Sayago (Miguel Nuñuez).
